John Wright of Nether Broughton 1699 Will and Inventory

In the name of god Amen the Seavent day of September in the yeare of our Lord god one thousand Six hundred ninety and nine I John Wright of Neather Braughton in the County of Leicester husbandman being sick and weak of body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto god therefore Calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die I do make and ordain this my last will and Testiament in manner And form following that is to say
First and principally I give my Soule into the hands of all mighty god who gave it me and for my body I Commend it to the Earth to be buried in Christian and Decent manner As to my Executrix Shall think meet nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of god
And as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased god to bless me with in this life I give devise bequeath and dispose the same in manner and form following
First I give and bequeath to my eldest son Edward Wright the sum of twenty pounds to be payd at the age of one and twenthy by my executrix here after mencioned
Ittam I give and bequeath unto my son William Wright all the howse and Land in Neather Broughton with Comons and Comon of pastures and all the appurtinances thare unto belonging at the age of one and twenthy to him and his heires for ever paying forty pound when he shall enter upon the same or within one yeare after in maner and forme following; Twenty pounds to be my daughter Dorathy Wright when he shall enter or with in one yeare after if shee bee alive the other twenty to my daughter Mary when he shall enter upon the same or within one yeare after shee being alive
Ittam I give and bequeath to my daughter Dorathy Wright one hundred and tenn pounds to be payd at the age of Twenthy one years by my Executrix
Ittam I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Wright one hundred and tenn pounds to be payd at the age of Twenthy one years by my Executrix
Ittam I give and bequeath Twenthy Shillings to the poore of Nether Braughton to be payd by my Executrix
Ittam I give and bequeath tenn Shillings to the poore of Long Claxson to be payd by my Executrix
Ittam I give and bequeath to Dorathy Wright my said wife all my goods and Chattels what so ever and of this my last will I make and ordain my Ever Loving wife Dorathy Wright my full and whole Executrix
And I doe hereby utterly dissallow revoke and annull all and every other former Testiments wills Legacies Bequests and Executors by me in any wise before this time named, willed, and bequeathed ratifying and Confirming this and none other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above written
