Thomas Wright of Eaton 1747 Will and Inventory

In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Wright of Eaton Yeoman being Sick of Body but of perfect Mind and Memory (praised be Almighty God therefore) do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament in Manner and Form following
First I give and bequeathe my immortal Soul into the Hands of Almighty God that gave it Hoping thro’ the meritorious Death and passion of my Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ to be joyfully receiv’d at the Day of my Resurrection and as for my Body to be decently buried in the Parish Churchyard at Eaton aforesaid at the Expences of my Executor hereafter mentioned and as for my Worldly Goods Cattles Chattles and personal Estate I dispose of in the following Manner and form
First I give the Sum of ten Shillings to the Poor of the parish of Eaton
Also I give and bequeath to my two Daughters Mary and Elizabeth the Sum of one Hundred and ten pounds Each and for the Non payment of which Sum I give and bequeath my House and Lands at Rearsby in the County of Leicester to be by my Daughters Entre’d on and possessed the next Lady=Day but one after my Decease
And as to the Household Goods I Will that they be Equally divided betwixt my two Daughters and my Son Thomas Share and Share alike but my Will and Command further is that if Either or both of my Daughters shall decease before they are married their part or portion her assigned shall devolve and descend to the Survivour or Survivours of my Children to be equally divided betwixt them
Also I give to my Daughter Mary a Gold ring and my Daughter Elizabeth two large Silver Spoons and the rest of the plate to my Son Thomas
My Debts my Legacies my funeral Expences being first paid and discharg’d and then all the rest of my Goods Cattles Chattles and personal Estate unbequeath’d I give and bequeath to my Son Thomas making and ordaining him Sole and full Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking and renouncing all former Wills made by me
In Witness whereof the Testator has set his Hand and Seal this twenty fift Day of November Anno Domini 1746
